Singer Intro

Gypsy Kyss was an American rock band from Chelan, Washington, which was founded in 1986 and disbanded around 1992.

story

The band was founded in 1986 and consisted of drummer Mike Seaman, bassist Patrick Oscarson and guitarist and singer Michael Dickes. Initially, the band still covered songs by Bob Dylan and Danny O'Keefe. The following year, the trio went to the studio to record the first demos. In addition, the band was also heard on the sampler Metal Meltdown Vol. 3 with the song Take Me Home. The demos were spread, which allowed the band to increase their prominence, so that the band reached a contract with Rising Sun Productions. After bassist Kevin Ohme and drummer Joey DeChenne joined the band, the debut album When Passion Murdered Innocence followed in 1990. Already the following year the second album Songs from a Swirling Ocean followed. In the middle of the year, Michael Dickes was the only remaining founding member. On the 1992 released album Groovy Soup, the band was next to Dickes, bassist Kevin Ohme and drummer Joey DeChenne. The album was to be the last of the band before the group disbanded.
style

The band played in their early days rock music in the style of Rush and Riverdogs. On the Groovy Soup album, however, the band played classic folk-rock reminiscent of works by Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, R.E.M., Dire Straits and Tracy Chapman. The music of the band also has a progressive character.
